2. Safety for students
There are lots of things any student has to learn to be safe when moving to university but don’t worry, the information below is easy to remember.
- Getting to know your city and campus is a great first step. Read up on the city of your choice. - Taking care of your items is a big responsibility as a student. Make sure that you have safe spaces to store your valuables, such as lockers or your room. It’s unlikely you’ll ever need them but Newcastle University has a security team who patrol university-owned residences and are available to contact 24 hours a day.
- You should also insure all of your valuables for extra security. Another good idea is to download useful apps on your phone, like CityMapper for getting around, or Guardly, an app that connects to local security and public authorities.
3. Mental wellbeing for students
Another aspect of considering which country is safe for Chinese students is what services a university provides to help with mental health worries or issues.
